Hi there, I’m Kate
I am mom to two girls, wife of one husband and slave to a very demanding cat. If i’m putting myself into boxes I am also a registered nurse, master practitioner of neurolinguistic programming, master of hypnosis, master of timeline therapy and master coach. It all sounds very posh but essentially when it comes to mind body and spirit, I’ve got you covered.
I love that life is an adventure and take joy in experiencing different cultures, foods and outdoor activities. I’m not too hot on a bike but in the water I swim like an enthusiastic aquatic mammal. I will be the first to laugh at myself and find that humour is a great way to balance the challenging clinical situations I experience.
My values are simple. Be kind, cherish family time, love often and be present. Life is short so we may as well enjoy it.
Professional
Whilst I many not look old enough I have been nursing for 19 years. Registered as an adult nurse with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council, my clinical background is primarily in the emergency department. Whilst ED is my ‘bread and butter’ I also have significant teaching and ward experience. Here I worked closely with multidisciplinary teams on improving staff development and retention whilst keeping a focus on patient experience.
Improving the health and wellbeing of health care providers has always been my priority. Without a fully functioning workforce how can we be expected to care for our patients and service users? Post pandemic I made the decision to leave my job and pursue options on how I could turn my aspirations into reality. I found something that worked for me and ran with it.
And here we are. My coaching is my passion. I know first hand how well it works. I know that mindset change through coaching and NLP saved me from another mental breakdown. I know that because of what I do I make a difference to so many people. With a little bit of a mindset tweak we change how we react, how we work and how we live. Imagine if every healthcare professional had access to this. Sickness rates will go down and retention rates will improve. But it is so much more isn’t it. Skills learnt with me give confidence and clarity to decision makers, a self belief that runs deep and an understanding of the mindset of our patients and service users.
Collaborations
I have the amazing opportunity to be able to collaborate with other individuals and organisations. This is a great way to share learning, develop new skills and work with like-minded people and companies. One of these individuals is the lovely Tina Naldrett.
Tina is a registered nurse, former chief nurse, life coach, celebrant and my fellow podcaster in A Lift To Work. Tina and I met on our NLP Practitioner course and instantly shared a bond. We bounce off each other and in doing so find new and exciting ways to impart our knowledge for the benefit of others.
